Because, six years after ramping up my own business, I’m finally nailing life and I want to help you do the same!
I am more my true self than I have ever been, both in business and at home. You know, that person you are when you are taking some downtime by yourself, content and at peace because there are no tasks immediately required of you, there is no one to pass judgement? I didn’t know that interlacing my true self with my work could result in a happier, minimally stressed, highly successful person.
I spent years playing the corporate game and I got pretty good at it, but that only partially prepared me for life as a modern woman.
What do I mean? Now, in addition to running my own business, I have a husband, a 3.5 year old daughter, a son on the way, a house & 70 acre horse farm, both in various stages of restoration and, at the moment, 43 animals I am responsible for: 21 horses, 6 chickens, 5 guinea fowl, 1 turkey, 2 sheep, 4 potbelly pigs, 2 cats and 2 dogs. Sure. I have some great help, but, for the most part, farm care falls to me.
All of that is to say, I have four full-time jobs: Business Owner, Farm Owner, Household Manager and Mother. Oh right….. I’m supposed to be a good wife to my firefighter/paramedic husband and be kind to myself, too! Of course, as many of you know, you and your spouse are typically the first to suffer under these circumstances, which is exactly the wrong thing to do.
To make matters more complicated, I was diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder seven years ago and, looking back, I have likely had GAD since middle school.
You can certainly see why it’s taken six years to become reasonably good at my life as it currently stands. I’m not doing it alone. I do a lot of reading and have a magnificent counselor.
The most frequent comment I get from my clients is, “I don’t know how you do it all!” Hence, this blog. I am here to help other career women have it all: career, family and household while also caring for yourself.
Join me as I take you through finding work/life harmony, all while I continue to progress in my own personal journey as a modern career woman, wife and mother.
